I have been reading “Professional ASP.NET 4 in C# and VB” by Wrox publishing and can highly recommend it to those who want to get a heads up before they jump into the deep end of the pool.
The authors, Bill Evjen, Scott Hanselman, and Devin Rader are well known and respected in the Microsoft Community. The book is very well organized. It does assume that the reader has some programming experience but you by no means have to be an expert to follow the logic or the examples. The material is presented in a very orderly fashion.
